As a new parent who’s never used childcare before, how do I know what is available?
There are two broad categories of care: care provided in your own home and care provided in the community. With in-home care ,the provider comes into your home to provide care on a part or full-time basis. The caregiver, often referred to as a sitter or nanny, either commutes to or lives in your home. With community care, a range of options typically are available, including child care centers, family day care, nursery and preschools, and before and after school programs. The Work-Life Specialist will review the different types of care options and help you determine which will best meet your family’s needs.
